Our congratulations to Rhodora “Olah” Romero-Aldemita (DST ’77) and Norberto “Norvie” Manigbas (Metamorphosis ’79) for the well-deserved recognition they received from the Crop Science Society of the Philippines (CSSP). The awards were given during the 23rd Federation of Crop Science Societies of the Philippines (FCSSP) Scientific conference held on May 11-16, 2015 at Hotel Stotsenberg, Clark Free Port Zone in Pampanga.

Olah was given the 2015 CSSP Honorary Fellow Award in recognition of her significant contributions to research, teaching and extension work in the promotion of biotechnology in agriculture. She is a senior program officer at the International Service for the Acquisition of Agri-biotech Applications (ISAAA). Norvie was awarded the 2015 CSSP Achievement Award in Research in recognition of his exemplary work in breeding rice varieties that are high-temperature tolerant.
