Some alumni members who are based in North America held a successful mini-reunion on November 10, 2012 to partly celebrate the golden anniversary year of the UP Varrons. The celebration was held in Culver City, California and hosted by some of the SoCal residents. The gathering was highlighted by a sumptuous lunch and delicious desserts prepared by Chef Ryan. This was followed by a short program where reports/updates were given by Vee (for the UP Varrons International) and Cion (for Varrons Foundation Inc on behalf of VFI president Abe Mandac and for UP Varrons Alumni Associaton on behalf of UPVAA president Tancho de Guzman). Cion also belatedly awarded the medals of recognition to founding members Noli and Lilian, and the ceremonial awarding to Teody on behalf of Cecil Yayen. The Special Award plaque was also belatedly presented to Nestor for his efforts in the Varrons@50 fund raising campaign for scholarship.

“It was heartwarming to meet everybody,” said Cion. “I finally met the long lost charter member Noli Bernal and met for the first time some of brods and sisses.”
