Dear Vrod/Sis,
The UP Varrons Alumni Association (UPVAA) has initiated the “VBB: Varrons para sa mga Biktima ng Bagyo,” a collective effort to help our fellow kababayan who were drastically affected by the recent super typhoon Yolanda. We would like to seek kindness from your heart to help our fellow Filipinos and enjoin everyone to donate in cash or in kind that can be sent to the devastated regions. The VBB fund campaign will prioritize assistance to our greatly affected Varrons. So far, we have received requests, through some Varrons, from Estela Polinar and Ranny Abiol. We are just getting the details on how we can help them. Some of the donations will be coursed through either the Red Cross or ABS-CBN Sagip Kapamilya Foundation.
For those who are interested in donating cash, you can deposit through PNB UPVAA account with the bank details given below or contact the following: Sis Virgie Barraquio (vlbarraquio@yahoo.com/ 09196465287) for UPLB Lower Campus, Sis Pola de Guzman (f.deguzman@irri.org/ 09175964347) for IRRI, and Sis Grace Penales-Marza (grace_paslit@yahoo.com/ 09162712042) for Forestry.
Branch : PNB, UP Los Baños
Acct. Name : UP Varrons Alumni Association Inc.
Acct. No. : 419085500016
For in-kind donations, we are collaborating with the UPLB Gawad Kalinga (GK) with drop-off points located in Baker Hall. GK specifically requested the following goods as part of the relief packages: 1kg. rice, (3) noodles, (2) canned goods, (3) coffee sachet, and (3) biscuits. Other in- kind donations can be directly given to the St. Therese of the Child Jesus Parish.
Let us continue praying for the families affected by the typhoon. Any amount or form of help will be very much appreciated.
Again, thank you very much in advance for your usual support.
Sincerely yours,
CONSTANCIO DE GUZMAN
President, UPVAA
