Announcement:
Tudla is happy to announce the launching of “2010 Life in My Part of the World” photo contest. This is open to all members of the UP Varrons. Submission of entries is open until the end of June 2010. Entries will be judged by the Varrons-at-large via voting online which will be held between July 1 and July 7, 2010. The winner will receive at least $250.00 (this may increase depending on the collection of pledges from potential donors — we will keep you posted).
Photos about any subject and composition reflecting the above theme can be submitted. Please submit your entries by sending them as attachments via email to support{AT}upvarrons{DOT}org. You can view the entries in this page.
Any member can submit a maximum of two entries; they must be original and unpublished photographs. We encourage that a digital photo should have dimensions of at least 1500 px (width) x 1000 px (height) and 300 psi resolution to accommodate future editing. For those who are using old-fashioned non-digital cameras, we request that you submit a high-quality scan of the print.
Please include the following in your electronic submission:
- a brief description of the photo subject/composition
- type of camera used
- date when photo is taken
- location
- your name and batch name and year
- photo of yourself (so we know the person submitting is you)

Hello sis Haxel. All the entries so far are from amateur photographers. One of the reasons we are limiting it to 2 entries per member is that there is no pre-screening. So it is up to the participant to select the best based on his/her judgment. So give it a shot and submit your entry now (and you can replace it before the deadline when you think you have a better photo).
sir mga raw/unenhanced photos po ba ang dapat i-submit or pwede ang edited na sa photoshop/CS4/Corel? ang dami kong tanong ^_^
Sorry sis. Dapat ay unenhanced/unedited photos lang. You can adjust your camera to whatever settings/filters necessary but the final product should be unedited.
Sir how about pictures posted in my Multiply and Facebook account, can I submit them here?
Yes, we think you can submit the photos you posted in FB or Multiply based on our reading and interpretation of the agreement that members signed with these sites. But you have to make sure that you own those photos and you have to submit the unedited photo files and not those you uploaded to either FB or Multiply sites. Good luck.

Kahit ano sis, depende sa judgment mo — if you think the photo fits the theme. After all, the members will be the judge using the voting online system. why don’t you pick two of your 2010 shots and submit them (just take note of the requested info in the post). and thanks for the link — very nice photos (you have good collection). a lot of brods and sis will surely enjoy your photos.
Important note: please review your agreement with bukaykay if you assigned the copyright to them. if that is the case, you cannot submit them as entries.

Just a clarification…what do you mean by “Life in my part of the World”- are these pictures of day-today life in where we live….so no still life/landscape pics,right? thanks…
Bro – We want to be inclusive as much as possible. Still life and landscape are included in the “Life ….. ” depending on how you look at them. So be free …
