by Tans de Guzman (Humane Batch ’74)
there is a road i
fondly take when
going home after a hard
day’s work: one that
slopes down a grassy
hill trimly lined on
both sides with trees
now crowned with cherry
blossoms. i never tire
walking on this road where yonder
it meets the purple sky and
bids goodbye the crimson sun
gently settling down. the night
deeply engulfs me . . . i dread not
this narrow road
leads me on.
