Right after the video presentation came the dance part of the night. The first three hours were lorded over by alumni with the undergrads preferring to stay in the sidelines. They were probably eager to see how their parents and maybe their grandparents did their dancing in the past. Meanwhile, the rest of the cookies from Vrod Ryan Jaranilla served as the midnight snack which washed down with brewed coffee that kept everybody wide-awake.

I recall seeing the following Varrons in the dance floor: Pioy De Guzman-Collins (ESQ ‘80), Olah Romero-Aldemita, Cristy Madamba-Bajet, Analyn Gamayon (Magnifique Sechs ‘07), Emelinda Revistir-De la Cruz (Batch ‘66), Ericson Jacinto, Belin Apuya-Lalap, Aymeeh Mendoza-Diaz, Cres Ines-Comia (Age Doesn’t Matter), Norvie Manigbas (Metamorphosis ‘79) and a lot more. The undergrads came in full force several hours later when age finally caught up with most of the alumni. If there had been special dance awards, I would have chosen Vrod Norvie who danced almost non-stop and Sis Cristy who led the pack in doing different steps especially LA Walk. Sis Cristy was so graceful that anyone with two left feet will surely learn how to dance.

By two a.m., alumni members began to leave. Some headed back home while others opted to take a rest in the resort. Sis Mae and I had to wake up Vrod Abring who was sleeping in a curled and tight position in the back of his Toyota Revo and told him to find a vacant bedspace in the airconditioned lodging room. He did found a place and slept comfortably. [/fusion_builder_column]

[Editorial note: see the “anniversary hangover” story in the Last Page section].

I thought that the party has ended but I heard some singing at the farther end of the resort main building. Many Aggie Varrons were there piling scores in the videoke with matching beer and wine.

On the side, there were pool tables. Some of the undergrads and I played a few games before I joined the videoke group. Those that I can recall being there included Melin De la Peña-Bandalaria (FQS ’78), Mae Macariola, Lissa Bengullo-Morales (Batch ‘82), Ricky Morales (Reparian ’79), Emer Jacinto, Ericson Jacinto, Laura Del Castillo-Sarmiento (FQS ’78), Pioy De Guzman-Collins, Ephrem Gabriel Cortes (Multitudes ’79) Len Amit-Corado (Crystal ’77), Malou Torrizo-Santos (Repertory ‘76), Eva Dacumos-Ferrer, Che Aquino (Batch ‘84), Mae Belen Llanza (Philantrophist ‘95) and Kurde De Asis (Honorary Member, Batch With No Name II ‘90). While dancing was going on, several senior Varrons were huddled outside the door of the hall probably discussing more serious things. (I hope it was not an organ, in contrast to, organizational reunion.)
