As an update to our Varrons@50 Challenge fund raising page, we are including a lottery drawing to the campaign. If you pledge to the scholarship fund raising campaign, your name will be included in the drawing and you will have a chance to win any of the following artwork items donated by some of our artist members or a free one-week accommodation in Las Vegas.

  • Item #1: “Leaving without seeing the rainbow” painting; 12” x 18” acrylic on canvas (frame not included); painted and donated by Tantso de Guzman (Humane Batch ’74). You can view more of Tantso’s artworks in this post.
  • Item #2: “Along the trail to Mt. Pinatubo” palette knife painting; 12” x 14” acrylic on canvas (frame not included); painted and donated by Tantso de Guzman (Humane Batch ’74)
  • Item #3: Glossy print poster (16” x 20”; frame not included) of a photo of your choice from the collection of Loids Mance (Jeffrox ’77). You can view a slideshow of her autumn photo collection using this link.
  • Item #4: Personalized sketch drawing by Kurde de Asis (Honorary Member ’90). Subject and size will be determined later. You can view some of the sketches and artworks of Kurde using this link.
  • Item #5: UPLB@100 Photo Memorabilia (12.5″ x 20.5″; framed). Donated by Cion Karganilla-Raymundo (Original Varronettes ’63).
  • Item #6: One-week accommodation in a time-share resort apartment conveniently located in the heart of Las Vegas near the Bellagio. Food and air fare are not included. Dates of availability will be internally arranged with Lilian Brioso-Macam (Original Varronettes ’63), who is the donor of the time-share.

Here are some simple rules:

  1. Every PHP 1000 that you donate will entitle you to one entry. So the more you pledge the more chances to win. There is no maximum limit to the amount of pledges.
  2. Drawing of the above items will be done randomly.
  3. To give everybody a chance to win, a winner in one draw is no longer eligible to win in succeeding draws.
  4. Drawing of winners will be done on the 50th Golden Anniversary celebration sometime in August 2012.
  5. Pledgee/donor may choose not to be included in the draw or has the option of putting another name(s) in the drawing. Donors who already pledged prior to this update will be automatically entered in the drawing.

The Varrons@50 Challenge fund raising was launched by the Varrons Foundation Inc, (VFI) in early 2011 to support its scholarship project and other activities (please click this link to read the full announcement and about the scholarship project).

How to donate? You have several alternative ways to do it:

  1. You can transmit/deposit funds directly to the VFI bank account at Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI), Los Banos branch (for security reason, the account number and other details will be sent to you when you fill-up the form below). If you are residing outside the Philippines, remitting money to the Philippines is easier than ever. One suggestion: use Xoom.com.
  2. You can give your cash or mail your check directly to the VFI Treasurer. Details will be provided to you after we receive your message using the form below.
  3. If you have a Paypal account, you can use the donation link below. Clicking the icon will lead you to a secure Paypal website. This account is under the name of support{AT}upvarrons{DOT}org.
