Year 2012<\/strong> is a big milestone for our organization — this marks the 50th year of the founding of the UP Varrons. As we approach this milestone, we invite you to actively participate in meeting the challenge outlined below.<\/p>\n

Going golden<\/p><\/div>\n

To celebrate this once in a lifetime event, the Varrons Foundation, Inc. (VFI) is spearheading a fund raising activity to support its scholarship project and other activities on the drawing board. As the development-oriented operational arm of the UP Varrons organization, VFI is registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission in the Philippines since 1990 and has been providing thesis support for deserving undergraduate students in the University of the Philippines Los Banos. The support is currently set at a very modest PHP2,000 per year (there is a need to increase this amount to at least PHP5,000). The earned interest of the current VFI fund provides the source for this scholarship activity. However, the current interest earned is so meager that increasing the support is not possible without tapping into the fund principal.
